The arrival of the STS-72 flight crew is greeted by a host of journalist, photographers and production crews at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility. Arrriving in Florida the same day the countdown clock began ticking are STS-72 Commander Brian Duffy; Pilot Brent W. Jett Jr; and Mission Specialists Dr. Daniel T. Barry; Leroy Chiao; Winston E. Scott and Koichi Wakata (who represents the National Space Development Agency of Japan). Awaiting the crew and the first Shuttle liftoff of 1996 is the Space Shuttle Endeavour at Pad 39B. Launch is targeted for January 11, during an approximately 49-minute window opening around 4:18 am EST.
