The STS-86 crew departs Kennedy Space Center for their home at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, aboard T-38 jets following the Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test (TCDT), a dress rehearsal for launch. The seven member crew will fly to the Russian Space Station Mir for the seventh docking of the Shuttle with the Russian orbiting outpost. Liftoff is targeted for Sept. 25.
