This photograph of astronaut Story Musgrave, STS-6 mission specialist, translating along the longerons on the port side of the cargo bay of the Earth-orbiting space shuttle Challenger was taken with a hand-held 70mm camera from some 18 meters (60 feet) away by one of two crew members who remained inside the cabin. Astronauts Musgrave and Donald H. Peterson (out of frame) were in the midst of NASA's first ever shuttle extravehicular activity (EVA). Astronaut Karol J. Bobko, pilot, took a number of photographs through the aft flight deck's windows, and astronaut Paul J. Weitz, mission commander, also exposed some images but remained in control of the orbiter during the EVA.
