At the Kremlin Wall in Red Square in Moscow May 14, Expedition 56 crew member Alexander Gerst of the European Space Agency lays flowers where Russian space icons are interred as part of traditional pre-launch ceremonies. Gerst, Serena Auñón-Chancellor of NASA and Sergey Prokopyev of Roscosmos will launch June 6 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft for a six month mission on the International Space Station.
