Construction continues on the Project Management facility, Building 2, at the Manned Spacecraft Center, some 25 miles southeast of the central business district of Houston, TX. The building's numerical designation was changed to Building 1, and the center's name became the Johnson Space Center, with both changes occurring in the early seventies.
