Though there is no space walk planned for the STS-68 mission, astronauts Stephen L. Smith (facing camera) and Peter J. K. (Jeff) Wisoff (background) rehearse for contingency tasks. These are extravehicular chores that could be called upon in the event remote systems failed to perform any of a number of tasks during the scheduled August mission. With the aid of SCUBA-equipped divers, the two mission specialists are being submerged in a 25-feet deep pool in the Johnson Space Center's (JSC) Weightless Environment Training Facility (WET-F) in which they will achieve neutral buoyancy in order to approximate the environment outside the Space Shuttle Endeavour's cabin.
