Extravehicular Activity (EVA) 5 on Flight Day 7 to service the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) on this second servicing mission (HST SM-02). Payload Commander Mark Lee and Mission Specialist Steve Smith conduct a contingency EVA to place more Multilayer Insulation (MLI) patches on the telescope. Lee (identified by the solid red stripes on his extravehicular mobility unit (EMU) suit) attaches the handmade MLI patches onto the telescope while standing on the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) Manipulator Foot Restraint (MFR) and Smith watches Lee while holding onto the HST trunnion (001-3).
