The fairing for the Swift-Delta launch reaches the top of the mobile service tower on pad 17-A, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The fairing will encapsulate the Swift spacecraft and protect it while on the launch pad and during ascent. The Boeing Delta rocket is the launch vehicle for Swift and its Gamma-Ray Burst Mission. Swift is a medium-class Explorer mission managed by NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
