Following liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, the first stage of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket returns. At 1:16 p.m. EST, Dec. 5, 2018, a two-stage Falcon 9 launch vehicle began SpaceX's 16th Commercial Resupply Services mission carrying more than 5,600 pounds of research investigations and equipment, cargo and supplies that will support some of the hundreds of investigations aboard the International Space Station.
