In the Operations and Checkout Building, the Life and Microgravity Sciences-1 (LMS-1) Spacelab module is being transferred into the payload canister transporter. The LMS-1 will be taken to Orbiter Processing Facility Bay 2, where it will be installed in the payload bay of the orbiter Columbia. Once electrical connections are established and a tunnel adapter installed, an Interface Verification Test (IVT) to verify interfaces between the orbiter and payload will be conducted. The LMS-1 will be the primary payload during the upcoming flight of Columbia on Mission STS-78 this summer.
