At Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., engineers from Boeing Satellite Systems conduct final inspections of the GOES-N spacecraft. They are looking at the solar panels. GOES-N, to be launched into orbit for NASA aboard a Boeing Delta IV rocket later this month, was the focus of a media opportunity on June 2. Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) are sponsored by NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Since its arrival on March 11, the satellite has been undergoing final testing by Boeing Satellite Systems of the imaging system, instrumentation, communications and power systems.
