This closeup shows the words of the plaque unveiled Jan. 29, 2004, that was dedicated in memory of the orbiter Columbia and her seven-member crew who were lost in the tragic accident Feb. 1, 2003, as they returned to Earth from mission STS-107. The dedication of the plaque was made in front of the 40-member preservation team in the Columbia room, a permanent repository in the Vehicle Assembly Building of the debris collected in the aftermath of the accident.
