Senior staff at the Johnson Space Center on July 1 joined hundreds of employees at the Houston site as well as hundreds of others at other NASA field centers who participated in a unique birthday celebration for astronaut Edward T. Lu, who is currently serving as NASA ISS science officer aboard the International Space Station. JSC Director Gen. Jefferson D. Howell Jr. is seated on the couch, and Deputy Director Brock R. (Randy) Stone, stands at right. Lu, who calls Hawaii home, got the surprise of his life when he was made aware of the attention his special day received on the ground.
