Backdropped by the blackness of space, an unpiloted Progress supply vehicle approaches the International Space Station. The Progress 20 resupply craft launched at 12:38 p.m. (CST) on Dec. 21, 2005 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to deliver 2.8 tons of supplies, gifts, food, water, fuel and equipment to the Expedition 12 crew members onboard the station. Progress docked to the Pirs Docking Compartment at 1:46 p.m. (CST) on Dec. 23 as the station flew approximately 220 statute miles above the Atlantic off the east coast of South America.
