Technicians at the Space Station Processing Facility carefully watch as a crane lifts the Thermal Protection System Detailed Test Objective (DTO) box. It will be placed on the Lightweight Multi-Purpose Experiment Support Structure Carrier (LMC) to fly on Space Shuttle Discovery for mission STS-114. The DTO contains tile samples that will enable astronauts to test new on-orbit Thermal Protection System repair techniques. The launch window for mission STS-114 is May 12 to June 3.
